Dictionary commands
/dictionary lookup— search words, meanings, pronunciation and synonyms./dictionary browse— browse alphabetically, with category, part of speech and page options./dictionary categories— list tags and parts of speech with word counts./dictionary languages— list languages and dialects with their IDs./dictionary daily— a word of the day, changing at midnight UTC./dictionary connection— see the connected project and published version./dictionary help— show the command guide in Discord./dictionary-disconnect— remove the server’s connection (Manage Server required).
Lookups, browsing, categories and daily words accept optional language and dialect selectors. Suggestions help you find names and words. Category names come from entry tags. Results include links to the full published dictionary.
What the bot can see
Connecting by ID uses the same published release available to visitors on the website. It never grants access to your private draft, account, API keys or editing controls. A new published version updates future lookups automatically. Unpublishing stops new lookups; dictionary messages already posted in Discord remain there.
Each Discord server has one world connection. Reconnecting replaces it; languages from separate worlds are kept separate. Connection changes and help are visible only to the person running the command. Dictionary results are shared in the channel where requested.
Discord displays the stored spelling and Unicode IPA using its own fonts. Custom language font files are available on the linked website, not inside Discord messages.
The bot responds to commands you choose to run. It does not read your chat messages. Privacy policy
